Contemporary Romance

I never thought I'd be a romance writer, but after introducing a friend of mine to one of my favorite historical romances (North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell), she asked me to write her a romance story. So, my first true romance (The Art of Love) was born. And ever since then, I find myself thinking up more sweet - and what I call Hallmark - romances where my hero and heroine get their happy ever after. Because everyone needs a little romance in their lives. Enjoy!

One Last Wish for Christmas
When the young crown princess of a small Mediterranean monarchy is injured in a crash just before Christmas, Doctor Daniel Povery is flown halfway around the world to care for her. Dr. Dan has been proclaimed by the medical community as the best pediatric neurosurgeon in the world, a ‘medical genius’ by some. His charming and gentle bedside manner doesn’t just put his patients at ease, but is also known to work on worried family members.
Her Royal Highness Victoria, the Princess Regent of Eriston, has gone through enough tragedy over the last few years and is determined to do everything in her power to make sure she doesn’t lose her niece as well. As the future Queen of Eriston, young Lucy is the apple of her aunt’s eye, and is the heart of the small island nation as well. Victoria demands that once Lucy is released from the hospital, Dan move into the palace to serve as Lucy’s personal physician until she fully recovers.
Dan realizes that Victoria’s commanding nature comes not from the current health scare of her niece or even her birthright, but from secrets Victoria’s hiding deep down. He also sees how the stress of those secrets is tearing her family apart, but she refuses to acknowledge that anything is wrong. Will Dan be able to work his bedside magic with not only the princess but her aunt as well, and will Victoria be able to confront and move past her dark memories before she loses her chance at One Last Wish for Christmas?

The Art of Love
Richard Thornton is one of Britain’s most popular actors and in his quest to expand his audience, agrees to star as the male lead in a new romantic comedy in the U.S. The only catch is that he’s signed to act opposite Hollywood’s ‘it-girl’ leading lady, Darcy Hartmann, who uses her heart to snag co-stars as much as using her child-like temper to get her way on set.
Small-town artist Kathleen Mouss is known around town as the military widow, but when she’s asked to open her aunt’s old Bed & Breakfast for the stars of a new movie, little does she know what excitement she’s opening the door to. Darcy is demanding, needy, superficial, and leaves Kathleen’s head hurting. Richard, on the other hand, is caring, attractive, charming, funny… and off limits!
Finding someone who likes him for him and not the ‘actor’ him has proven difficult in the past, but as Richard's friendly relationship with Kathleen grows deeper, he realizes that she could be that someone. But Kathleen’s romantic past has a dark secret, one that only a couple of people knew. When fate threatens to rip them apart, will the pair overcome their past and move into the future with each other?

From Start to Finish
In 2008, I had the meet of my life. Only one meet could possibly be any bigger in my career – the Olympic Games. But I never got there. In a split second my chances for a gold medal were gone, as was my future in track and field.
Two years later, I started keeping this diary. Why? I wasn’t sure at the time, but turns out it ended up being a pretty good thing.
Now, with an old friend (and ex-boyfriend), I’m trying to reclaim what I lost, but is that only limited to what’s on the field? Or do I get a second chance to finish what I started off the field too?
Read a personal account of an athlete’s struggle to prove that when everyone else has written you off, with determination in yourself, you truly can get a second chance to finish what you started. If you've love the sport of track and field or love sports in general, read a story about second chances, determination, faith, and love in my novella fit for all ages.
